Creative Library

A centralized, account-level repository where creatives live independent of campaigns

What is Creative Library?

The Creative Library is a centralised home for your creatives in Realize. Instead of rebuilding the same creative every time you launch a campaign, you create it once in the library and reuse it across as many campaigns as you need.

It functions as a comprehensive gallery and single source of truth for all creatives, supporting a variety of formats including Native, Display, and Video.

One creative, many campaigns. No re-uploading, no waiting, no duplicated effort.

Why should you use Creative Library

  • Faster campaign launches - Creatives are ready before campaigns are created

  • Eliminate duplicate work - Upload your creative once and use across a number of campaigns

  • Master sync - Edit a creative once and the updates are propagated to every linked campaign automatically

  • Centralized creative management - All Native and Display creatives live in one searchable, filterable library

  • Decoupled team workflow - Creative Directors and Media Buyers work in parallel instead of sequentially

What problems does Creative Library solve for advertisers

Creative re-use pain

  • Pain point and how we solve it

    • These advertisers are uploading the same hero creative across multiple campaigns

    • The Creative Library lets you upload it once and link it to every campaign - and when you tweak the master, every linked ad updates automatically

  • Key functionalities:

    • Different tracking URLs per ad: Some advertisers need a different click-through tracking URL per campaign for the same creative -> Creative library lets you set the URL per ad, without splitting the creative. The URL is not part of the creative's identity, changing it updates only that individual ad

    • Creative performance data: You can now see the performance data of a creative across multiple campaigns that it is assigned to

      • See every ad that uses the same creative and how each is performing across its campaigns, so you can compare without hopping between reports

    • Edit an individual ad: You can also change a single ad in a single campaign, for example a localized headline or a different image for a test, without touching the shared creative

Governance pain

  • Pain point and how we solve it

    • These advertisers reuse the imagery heavily across campaigns but each campaign gets bespoke copy. This suggests they have separate creative and buyer teams, brand-managed asset libraries, and multi-stakeholder approval flows

    • The Creative Library gives your creative directors a centralized, approval-gated asset library. Your media buyers pull from it directly into campaigns. No more email attachments and version chaos

  • Key functionalities:

    • Manage your library: The library view is a full report of all your creatives. You can search, filter, make bulk changes (play, pause, edit, duplicate etc.)

    • Bulk upload: You can use Bulk Upload to create many creatives at once, edit existing ones, and optionally assign each to one or more campaigns, all in a single file

    • Declare AI-generated content (EU AI Act): If AI-content disclosure is enabled for your account, each creative has an AI content setting. A declaration "This ad contains AI-generated or AI-modified content" will be applied automatically to your creative if it was created or substantially edited by generative AI

How to use Creative Library

Open Creative Library from the left-hand navigation in Realize. You'll land on the library view, a searchable and filterable table of every creative in the account, with a toolbar for creating, searching, filtering, and exporting.

If you manage a network or multiple sub-accounts, you'll be asked to pick the specific account a creative belongs to when you create it.

Workflow 1: Create a creative

creating a creative
  1. In the Creative Library, click New (top-right).

  2. Choose the creative type: Native creative, Display creative, or Performance Video creative. (Or Bulk Upload, see Workflow 3.)

  3. The creation window opens (for example, Create Native Creatives). On a network account, first choose the Account.

  4. Pick a format type (Native): Standard, App Install, or Vertical.

  5. Add your media in the Media section: upload thumbnails (you can provide multiple aspect ratios), motion assets, and a logo.

  6. Add your content as one or more variations. Each variation has its own title, description, and CTA. Create a single variation, or add several to test different messaging, and either write them yourself or use AI to generate variations for you. Then set the Landing Page URL, and optionally a creative name to make the creative easy to find later.

  7. (If shown) Set the AI content declaration. See Workflow 7.

  8. Click the create button.

Preview before launch. You don't need a campaign to build a creative. Create it now, use ‘Preview’ to see how it will look, and share it for feedback. The creative waits in your library, unassigned, until you're ready to use it. Your new creative is added to the library unassigned: ready to use, but not in any campaign yet. Assign it whenever you're ready (Workflow 2).

Workflow 2: Assign a creative to campaigns

Assigning a creative places it into a campaign as an ad. You can assign an existing creative straight from the library, or assign (and even create) creatives while you set up a campaign.

Option A: Assign from the Creative Library

assigning creative
  1. In the library, select the creative you want to use. You can select several at once.

  2. Choose Assign.

  3. Pick the campaign, or campaigns, you want to add it to.

  4. Confirm. The creative is added to each selected campaign as an ad, without leaving the library.

Option B: Assign from a campaign

assigning creative
  1. Open the campaign and click Edit assignment to open the Edit creative assignment drawer. (You reach the same step when creating a new campaign.)

  2. In the drawer, choose one or multiple creatives to assign to the campaign.

  3. Need something new? Create a new creative right from the drawer, build it just like Workflow 1, and it's added to the campaign and saved to your library for reuse.

  4. Save your changes.

Tip: To create or assign creatives across many campaigns at once, use the Bulk Upload Excel flow (Workflow 3) with the Campaign IDs column.

Workflow 3: Create, edit, and assign in bulk (Excel)

Use Bulk Upload to create many creatives at once, edit existing ones, and optionally assign each to one or more campaigns, all in a single file.

  1. Click New, then Bulk Upload, to open Bulk Operations.

  2. Download the template. Creatives go on the CREATIVES sheet.

  3. Fill in the sheet. Key columns include Account ID, Campaign IDs, Creative ID (for editing existing creatives), Landing Page URL, Library Creative Name, Title, Description, CTA, Thumbnail (file or URL), Motion ad, Logo, AI Generated Status, and per-aspect-ratio thumbnail columns.

    1. Leave Campaign IDs empty to create the creative and leave it unassigned.

    2. Enter one or more campaign IDs to create the creative once and assign it to each listed campaign.

  4. Upload the completed file.

  5. Review the Preview, a summary of exactly what will be created, updated, and assigned.

  6. Confirm, then check the Status screen for per-row results, including any rows that need attention.

Note: Bulk Upload isn't available for programmatic accounts.

Workflow 4: Edit a creative, and create variations

editing a creative

Editing a creative in the library is powerful: your changes apply to every ad using that creative, across all of its campaigns.

  1. In the library, click a creative's thumbnail, or use the Edit action.

  2. Make your changes in the editor.

  3. Review the Assigned Campaigns section, which lists every campaign currently using this creative. If it's in use, you'll see: "Editing this creative will update ads in all assigned campaigns."

  4. Click save. If the creative is assigned to campaigns, confirm how to apply:

    1. Apply changes: updates the ads in every assigned campaign.

    2. Duplicate creative: creates a new, unassigned copy with your changes and leaves the original (and its live ads) untouched.

Heads up: when you apply changes, the updated ads may stop serving temporarily if they need to be re-reviewed. If you only want to change some campaigns, choose Duplicate creative and assign the copy to just those campaigns.

Change just one ad (detaching a variation)

Sometimes you want to change a single ad in a single campaign, for example a localized headline or a different image for a test, without touching every other ad. To do that, edit that individual ad instead of the shared creative.

Changing an ad's content (its title, image, or description) detaches it from the shared creative: that ad becomes its own standalone creative, so the change affects only that ad. The original creative and its other ads stay exactly as they were. This is how you create a one-off variation.

Content detaches, URL doesn't. Changing an ad's landing page URL does not detach it. Only a change to the creative's content (title, image, description) creates a detached variation.

Two ways to make a variation

  • Duplicate the creative in the library to get an independent, unassigned copy. Edit the copy, then assign it to the campaigns you want. You must make at least one change before you can duplicate in the editor.

  • Edit an individual ad in its campaign. Changing its content detaches it into its own variation, affecting only that ad.

Deleting a creative

Irreversible. If the creative is in use, deleting it removes its ads from all campaigns and they stop running immediately. This can't be undone. To keep existing ads running, duplicate the creative instead. Historical reporting data is preserved.

Workflow 5: Manage your library

The library view is a full report of your creatives.

  • Columns include: Thumbnail, Content (title, description, CTA), Assignment (the "N campaigns" link), URL, Custom Creative Name, ID, Type, Format, Dimensions, Orientation, Create Time, Status (Active or Paused), Custom ID, and row Actions.

  • Search by creative title using the search bar.

  • Filter with: Top Results (default Top 200), Creation Date, Creative Media Type, Channel Type, Format Type, Orientation, and Size / Aspect Ratio. (Some filters depend on your account's access.)

  • Row actions: Edit, Duplicate, Preview, Delete.

  • Bulk actions (select multiple rows): Play, Pause, Edit, Duplicate, Delete.

  • Export the library to CSV from the export menu.

Workflow 6: See how a creative performs, and edit its ads

creative level performance

Because one creative can run in many campaigns, you can see all of its ads and their performance in one place.

  1. In the library, find the creative's Assignment column. It shows "N campaigns" as a link.

  2. Click it to see every ad that uses this creative and how each is performing across its campaigns, so you can compare without hopping between reports.

  3. From here you can inline edit an ad (for example, its landing page URL, see Landing page URLs) or drill into a campaign's ads report for the full detail.

Workflow 7: Declare AI-generated content (EU AI Act)

If AI-content disclosure is enabled for your account, each creative has an AI content setting.

  • Check "This ad contains AI-generated or AI-modified content" if your creative was created or substantially edited by generative AI.

  • Why it matters: your declaration is required by AI-content disclosure laws in some markets and determines how your ad is labeled in those regions.

  • The declaration is managed at the creative level, so it applies consistently to every ad that uses the creative.

On an ad that's linked to a library creative, the AI content setting is controlled by the creative. Edit the creative to change the declaration, and it updates everywhere the creative is used.

Landing page URLs

Every creative has a Landing Page URL set at the creative level: the destination its ads point to. Set it in the creative's Content section, or in the Landing Page URL column in Bulk Upload.

Use a different tracking URL per ad

Some advertisers need a different click-through tracking URL per campaign (for example, DoubleClick or CM360 tracking) while keeping one shared creative. You can set the URL per ad, without splitting the creative:

  1. In the library, click the "N campaigns" link on the creative (Workflow 6) to see all the ads that use it.

  2. Find the ad you want to change.

  3. Use inline edit to update that ad's landing page URL to your per-campaign tracking URL.

Why this is safe: because the URL is not part of the creative's identity, changing it updates only that ad and does not detach it from the shared creative.

FAQ

Can I use one creative in more than one campaign?

Yes, that's the point of the library. Assign the same creative to as many campaigns as you like; each becomes an ad powered by the shared creative.

If I edit a creative, will it change my live ads?

Yes. Edits apply to the ads in all assigned campaigns, and those ads may briefly stop serving if they need re-review. If you only want to change some campaigns, duplicate the creative and assign the copy.

How do I change just one ad without affecting the others?

Edit that individual ad's content in its campaign. Changing its title, image, or description detaches it into its own creative, so only that ad changes. Changing just its landing page URL doesn't detach it.

Do I have to assign a creative to a campaign when I create it?

No. Creatives are created unassigned and live in your library until you're ready to use them. This is ideal for preparing assets, and sharing previews, ahead of launch.

Can I create a creative while building a campaign?

Yes. In the campaign's Edit creative assignment drawer you can create a brand-new creative on the spot. It's added to the campaign and saved to your library for reuse.

Why can't I edit the "AI content" checkbox directly on an ad?

Because the declaration lives on the creative, not the individual ad. Edit the creative and the declaration updates on every ad that uses it.

What happens if I delete a creative that's in use?

Its ads are removed from all campaigns and stop running immediately, and this can't be undone. Duplicate the creative first if you need to keep existing ads live. Reporting history is preserved.

Which creative types can I build?

Native, Display, and Performance Video.
